we have just returned from an unforgettable stay in Amalfi.Hotel Aurora is a magnificent hotel in an ideal location.It's just across the road from the beach and is only a short stroll to the town centre,ticket offices for ferries,buses,restaurants, shops and of course la Piazza del Duomo where it all happens!
Our room was excellent-spotlessly clean,led onto a huge balcony with magnificent sea views.The staff couldn't have been more helpful.A very good continental breakfast was served every morning on the bougainvilla -clad terrace overlooking the sea .What a blissful start to the day! The fact that AURORA is situated on the road in a quiet cul-de-sac makes it one of the best places to stay in Amalfi.Most hotels in the area are located up higher and require the climbing of steps all the time,quite a challenge in temperatures of 35 degrees and more!We would definitely recommend this hotel as THE place to stay in Amalfi.

We decided to go for Aurora Hotel as it did not charge arms and legs for a night stay. We booked a superior double which had its own terrace. The hotel was clean and provided adequate services to its rating. We received very good service and help with parking our car. Enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace and wish there was fresh orange juice available to everyone and some ham, mozzarella and tomatoes added to breakfast buffet. Overall good experience. Would recommend it for a short stay 1-2 nights.

This is a great hotel. Very clean, close to downtown. We had a huge terrace through great french doors with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea.. The hotel is located right across the street frome the Sea. The complimentary breakfast was nice. I wish we had planned to stay longer. I would definitely stay at Hotel Aurora again and I highly reccommend it. The hotel staff was very helpgul and friendly.

Good value for money. Clean rooms, very very kind staff. Parking in the garage - but too expensive!! Breakfast in the poor end, but enough of everything and fresh - and - served on a beautifull terrace with a harbour view.

Stayed for six nights in a Superior Room with Terrace/Sea View - it was everything we had hoped for and more. Close proximity and level walk to Amalfi town, buses and boats so we were able to visit Ravello, Positano, Capri, Minori easily from here. Staff at hotel very helpful and we had dinner at some of the restaurants recommended. Loved it!

We had a lovely holiday at the Hotel Aurora. We were very pleased that we chose this Hotel - close to town on level walk - right on the harbour, when we saw the locations of other hotels we were even more pleased with the choice. The superior room we chose was well worth the extra money with a large terrace overlookong the harbour with lots of space for two loungers and table and chairs. Staff were lovely and very helpful in recommending restaurants. The breakfast terrace was beautiful and the buffet breakfast was just great! Thoroughly recommend the Aurora and also Amalfi as the most interesting of the resorts on the Amalfi coast. We will come again!

Very pleased with the hotel. Location was perfect, with a great view, large balcony, just the right distance from the center of town so it was quiet but easy access to the main central area. On the level, so we didn't have to lug suitcases up hill. Staff was very helpful.

The hotel is situated in a lovely quiet corner of Amalfi overlooking the harbour and sea yet within easy reach of the town. Parking and lifts are available. Our room was great and the bathroom fantastic, large balcony well furnished so it was well worth spending the extra for a superior room.
Staff were really helpful and pleasant - we will be back!!!

Magnifico hotel situato in un incantevole scenario. La nostra camera affacciava in un terrazzino con una vista davvero mozzafiato, da cui si potevano ammirare il mare cristallino con le caratteristiche barche dei pescatori e i suggestivi promontori verdi che fanno della costiera amalfitana un luogo indimenticabile. Lo staff dell'hotel è stato davvero disponibile con ogni nostra esigenza e estremamente gentile. La camera era molto pulita e i colori delle ceramiche erano in perfetto stile amalfitano. In più, la colazione servita nel terrazzino adornato di bougonville rendeva il risveglio mattutino ancor più piacevole. Ottimo soggiorno. Da consigliare sicuramente!

Hotel Aurora has the perfect position in Amalfi right on the water with wonderful views. We loved our room with the terrace. It was beautiful. We felt really well looked after, the lounge with the bar for pre dinner drinks. Then the service for breakfast, The reception staff were always very helpful, we wished we could have stayed longer and would love to return when the weather was warmer, We highly recommend the hotel, it was faultless.

We stayed at Aurora Hotel for 5 nights as part of a 3 month holiday through Asia and Europe. The hotel is located at harbour level and a vert short walk from the centre of town. The staff at Aurora were all very friendly and always available to assist with any question. They also suggested some wonderful restaurants in Amalfi, which made making a decision as to where to have dinner very easy. However, though we were very happy with the cleanliness and size of our room, and the views and size of our balcony, we found the hotel to be very noisy and every night and every morning we were disturbed by other guests as they walked past our room.

Oh my gosh! What a wonderful place you have there. A little slice of heaven. We were there recently on a holiday through Italy and by far this was my favouite spot. Your complex is exquisite. We did not enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Aurora in Amalfi.
After booking a seaview double room 5 months in advance, when we arrived were given a room at the end of a corridor, looked more like a deposit area for cribs etc. The size of the room was very small, like a large closet. It was claustrophobic to be in there.
The seaview, if you stretched your head all the way to the corner of the window you saw a bit of the sea.
When we asked for another room we were told there were no other rooms available. In fact, staff at the front desk was not helpful at all upon our arrival.
Had to pay extra for parking and internet service.
Breakfast was OK.
When we read the reviews in this site, we find 3 to 5 stars for this hotel. Guess they got the nicer rooms.
I would not go again to this hotel and would not be recommending it to our friends. ---------- Thank you very much for your review.
You have booked a room with standard size.
We have superior rooms that are larger than standard rooms; they are located at the top floor with a terrace and are more expensive than standard.
There are oak-trees at 100 metres from the hotel building but not in our own property. People provided to cut them during the winter but they are safeguarded so we cannot ask more.
With regard to deposit in the corridor we apologize if you have had some troubles during the housekeeping from 9 am to 2 pm.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience we have caused . Therefore we are prepared to offer you a superior room at the same rate which you have actually paid for a standard plus one night free. The offer is valid until the end of June 2011.

Tha Aurora hotel in Amalfi was really a good choise for my wife and myself.
Perfect seaside position with wonderful views.
The hotel is a fairly small confortable hotel with god standard and cosy atmosphere.
We had a nice room with seaview and we slept well even if the beds were a bit hard.
Very friendly and supportive staff. Lovely breakfast that was served on the terass with stunning views.

This hotel doesn't need any more reviews but we had the best stay also. It's true about the friendly, helpful staff and the wonderful views of the ocean - especially the sunrise. The location is great - just in the quieter part of town to ensure a good nights sleep but within easy walking distance to all the restaurants. It was clean with traditional, italian tiles. Amalfi has a definite market for walking maps of the area however. Thoroughly recommend the village and the hotel. Thank you for indulging us in our very average attempts at italian.Would love it though if all hotels in the world didn't charge like wounded bulls for their bar fridnge drinks, especially when there is a wonderful balcony to sit and enjoy the views on.

I stayed in Aurora Hotel this summer and what a beautiful hotel. We had an ocean view room - the best I have ever had. Location is great, close to everything. Room was clean, beautiful and balcony was an amazing view - you can hear the water hiting the rocks in the morning - I just didn't want to get up from the balcony lawn chair. Oh yes the breakfast was also in an amazing terrass very nicely done. I would certainly stay here again.

stanza 26 - da evitare, finestra su richiastro con rumoroso blocco motori condizionatori a un metro, la stanza non ha l'aria condizionata al contrario di quanto dichiarato su internet. per il resto posizione ottima, comoda e vicina a "tutto", personale gentile e professionale, servizio ineccepibile più che adeguato al prezzo pagato. buona pulizia. graziosissima spiaggetta privata. Risposta dell'albergo: siamo riusciti a superare alcuni problemi tecnici così da garantire l'AC per il prossimo anno, 2010, anche nelle standard. In internet è specificato che le standard senza vista mare non hanno l'aria condizionata.

A due passi di piacevile lungomare dal centro di Amalfi e dagli imbarchi per Capri e Positano abbiamo trovato questa perla di hotel. Una vista mozzafiato sul mare, con la luna che si specchia nel mare di notte. Un tetto di bouganville che incorniciano il giardino della prima colazione. Uno staff sempre gentile e pronto a darti una mano e dei consigli di giorno e di notte. E infine, ma non certo per importanza, un ambiente pulito ed ordinato con tutto lo charme che ci si può aspettare dalla Costiera Amalfitana. Un luogo certamente dove torneremo.

Very cosy atmosphere and good location. Excellent restaurant-recommendation! But a little bit cold in the room during the night. Hotel manager answered: I'm very sorry about the cold you suffered inyour room.What a shame you didn't tell anything at the reception. We would have given you an extra blanket. In Italy it is not allowed to switch the central heating on from April 1st but we would have put the individual air conditioner in your room on "heat".

He allowed us to park (FOR FREE!) at the hotel, even though we were staying at the apartments in the centro. Andrea was extremely kind and gifted us with a free upgrade to a suite with 2 bedrooms.
The apartment was very clean and included a fully functioning kitchen (with dishwasher), bathroom, washer and dryer. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable! The bathroom, although small, provided us with a surplus of big, clean towels- a luxury for those accustomed to youth hostels. Only 2 minutes walking distance from the beach and from the Duomo and Main Piazza.
The management was flexible, helpful, and hospitable! They texted us while we were on our way and told us another driving route, so we wouldn't run into a detour. VERY HELPFUL! Andrea also gave us many restaurant recommendations where we were given discounts! Score!
Overall, this was a great experience! And I recommend Hotel Aurora Apartments to families as well!

Apr 21, 2009 We stayed at the Aurora between 17-21 April 2009. It's a great little budget hotel just a stones throw away from the main square in Amafi and is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful towns on the Amalfi Coast. The hotel was clean, airy and nothing was too much trouble for the extremely friendly staff. Our room at the front of the hotel (no. 21) had a sea view which was a little obscured by the trees outside but on the whole it was bright and pleasant. My only complaint was the bed! I got very little sleep on the first night as the mattress was much too hard and the pillows felt like rock. We informed the management who said that most of beds had been replaced and that all of the new mattresses were very firm. They did offer us a room move (to one with an older, slightly softer mattress) but to be honest there was little difference between the two so we stuck with our original room and had the mattress covered with blankets to soften it slightly. This helped as I managed to get to sleep the second night but even so a lie-in the following morning was out of the question! At the end of the stay the manager was kind enough to deduct some money from the bill for the inconvenience.

The Aurora Hotel was a very pleasant place to stay.
They helped with making every aspect of the trip enjoyable even down to recommending very fine restuarants to eat.
I would recommend the hotel to my family and friends. It was just right for a fantastic get away with a friend.
